Kurt Clark
Kurt
was born in El Paso, Texas but grew up on a 20 acre farm in New Mexico.
He was brought up in a non-instrumental Church of Christ.
In 1988, Kurt married his wife Kris and they have two kids Matthew and
Kaylan, however, they did not agree on a church to attend. They are from
extremely different backgrounds and could not agree on a Church
denomination. It was after many years, mistakes, and problems that they knew
they had to turn their lives around. Kurt and Kris found that Church would
be an important part of their life. They started attending Church in Dallas
and then moved to Florida. Soon after moving to Florida they became members
here at the First Christian Church of MI.
Kurt always wanted to serve the Church in any function. As a Deacon and now
an Elder, feels very fortunate to have this experience - to be able to serve
as a part of a Church family that seeks to do God's will in all things.

Dean Orr
Dean
was born on Kindley Air Force Base, Bermuda; the son of Master Sergeant Leo
Orr of Michigan and Beverly Orr of West Virginia. Dean’s Father resides in
Orlando, Florida. His Mother has gone to be with the Lord. Having
spent most of his life on various military bases, Dean traveled much during
his youth. Among more than 12 locations before finishing high school, Dean
lived in the Philippines and Turkey. From a very young age Dean was exposed
to the message of Jesus. His mother often taught him and his brothers about
Jesus. His father always took the family to Church, usually the base chapel.
The family moved to Satellite Beach in 1977
when his father was stationed there, and finished out his Air Force Career
at Patrick Air Force Base. Dean attended The University of Central Florida
and after getting his electrical engineering degree, he entered the Air
Force as a Lieutenant. After a short stay in the Air Force he went to
Kennedy Space Center where he has worked since 1987 for Lockheed and NASA.
Dean married Colleen in 1994 and they have
two children, Vance and Melanie. Colleen is involved in the nursery Program
and has taught Sunday School for children in the past. Dean has played
drums in Praise and Worship Bands in the past and currently enjoys playing
with our own Church Praise Band. Dean was actively involved in Prison
Fellowship Ministry in Brevard County for several years. He was formerly a
Deacon leading the Family Crisis Ministry. Dean has been an Elder at FCCMI
for several years and has attended this church since 2000.

Dennis
Theoret
Dennis
was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 14, 1959. In 1962 during the Cuban
missile crisis, my Dad took an engineering position with Douglas Aircraft in
Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In 1966, we moved to snowy Syracuse, New York
where I spent most of my childhood. Following high school, I earned an
associates degree in forestry and took a position on the Rogue River
National Forest in southern Oregon marking timber and fighting wildfires.
After working a few years out west, I returned to college for B.S. and M.S
degrees in geology. I met my wonderful wife, Shirley, while attending
graduate school at The University of Akron. We were married on August 29,
1987, and started attending North Syracuse Christian Church (NSCC) shortly
thereafter. We were both baptized by Michael Brown on the evening of March
6, 1988, and on the evening of March 6, 1990 (exactly 2 years later) Shirley
went into labor to give birth to our first daughter. During our 5 years at
NSCC, we served together as nursery and Sunday school teachers. We have
been blessed with two healthy girls: Sandra (born March 7, 1990) and Valerie
(born July 31, 1991).
In late1992, Dennis accepted a company transfer to open an office and manage
environmental engineering and geology work in east-central Florida. Shortly
after moving to Florida, we placed membership at First Christian Church of
Merritt Island. Both girls were baptized at FCCMI by Preston Free. Shirley
started and still interprets in the deaf ministry, and also serves as the
guest ministry leader. Dennis served as a finance deacon in the mid-1990s,
and has served as an elder since the late-1990s.
